More Flash

So I had to make do with a single flash, and managed to get some much better pics than I did on my last attempt. Find them here (except for the first one, obviously).

Flash!

Being comfortably back in Sydney and over all my jetlag, I got out bouldering on Saturday with Mick and Liam. Despite the fact that I'd spent the previous night drinking copious amounts of red wine and beer at a Happy Birthday Stu, Joel and Duncan kind of shindig, I woke up inexplicably psyched. Like really, really psyched. The sun was shining, the birds singing and despite the fact that I'm still struggling to get back to full fitness after breaking my collarbone, we had a really good session.

I also had a play around with some off-camera flash photography. See here for the results. Some things I learnt: don't shoot at at ISO200 or f/4 (ISO 100 and f/8 is probably more like it); resting the flash on the ground is sub-optimal and diffusers are useful. Yesterday I bought a Vivitar 285hv and another receiver as well as two diffusers for my flashes, all for less than $150. Happy days.
